We’ve had The Memoryboard up and running for about a month now and absolutely love it. There’s only one thing that I really don’t like about it, and that is the private messages that even the administrator cannot see. That hasn’t been a problem for us yet, but I can see how it could be. I have had to take down posts that I posted because they disturbed my sister. She got very agitated about pictures of our deceased brother and parents, so I took those posts down. If someone else posted those photos privately, I would never see them or be able to take them down. Oops, there’s actually two things I don’t like. The second is that anybody can alter your post. My nephew actually did this. I had spent a lot of time inputting the month’s schedule from the memory care facility, and making sure that not too many posts were running at the same time. He went in and changed the timing, so I had to redo it all. I think only the administrator should be able to alter someone else’s post.
So much for the negative, there are so many positives. I am in Colorado and my sister is in Florida, and she is not very good about answering her phone anymore. The other day I put a post on The Memoryboard for her to call me, and she actually did. I considered that a huge success. We also discovered that she was enjoying it so much that she was waking up in the middle of the night and looking at the pictures. She was able to do this, even though we had put the board to sleep for the night. She discovered if she touched the sleeping board, she could look at whatever picture was playing in the background for three seconds. There was a pretty easy workaround for that. We no longer schedule posts to run for 24 hours, they just run from 8 AM to 9 PM then we have another post that says good night that runs all night long in the background while the board is asleep.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase!
